A low rumble could be heard echoing as far as it could reach. Darkness filled the area, and everything seemed to be skewed. However, there were things to be seen. A sky for one, it looked crimson red and filled with ominous clouds. The ground, it was charcoal, like something had scorched its surface and left it barren. It was a world devoid of all life, hope, and ambission. The distance seemed to go on forever, a world that had been left behind and desolate, buildings crumbled to the ground and in ruins. It was a depressing sight for anyone to see.
Randin walked across this barren land, alert and ready for anything. His mind was running a billion miles an hour. Something wasn't right, he knew this. But what he couldn't tell exactly, but he had a faint idea, it was like most of his other visits to this place. It was a dream, a nightmare that he couldn't seem to escape until it felt like it was almost too late to do so. The silence was about to kill him until he heard a sound that seemed to make the hairs on the back of his neck raise. It was a soft chuckle, low and menacing. Randin could feel the presence pressing down upon him, it was almost unnerving. It made Rand want to curl in on himself. As he walked he wrapped his arms around himself and shivered. He didn't stop walking though, he was persistant on that matter.
As much as the dark feeling seemed to engulf him though as he eventually couldn't move on and fell to the ground whimpering, and all he wanted to do was find a place to hide, he found himself compelled to call out with everything he had in an almost sobbing cry of fear, "HELP ME!"
At first it seemed the dark was going to choke him alive, but then like a ghost or a spirit, a figure appeared in the form of a vibrant light. Its body was long, slender, and agile. Its claws, spikes, and teeth looked sharp; while its wings beat fiercly. A loud shriek emitted from its large jaw and sent out a sonic wave that could be seen vibrating in a foward direction like waves of water, but they were sound. Rand couldn't help but cover his ears and wince a bit. The creatures eyes glowed with a white hot fury and the darkness was thrusted back in a flash of light it seemed that when Randin opened his eyes again he saw normal light again, blue sky and a barren, but not so creepy earth below his feet. He blinked and looked down at the ground with wonder. After a bit he finally looked up and around his surroundings. Thats when he saw the beast that had finally landed next to him and was looking down at him with wise eyes. Randin couldn't help but think that the thing was smiling at him. Carefully he smiled back at it and stood up. A part of him wanted to reach out and touch it by instinct. Cautiously he reached out towards the creature. Somehow instictively he knew it was a dragon. Mostly from the books he read a lot. Finally his hand touched the dragons muzzle and pet it.
The muzzle was soft like down, a fur texture to it. He coudl feel it thrum under his touch and it pleased him. For a few moments things were still again and quiet, but not forboding. Randin gave a sigh of relief and he stroked the muzzle. However, he did not expect one thing, it to speak to him. Now it wasn't like normal speech. It was like the speech of magic itself. He could hear it in his mind and it flowed like water.
(Randin....) it spoke mentally, a deep male voice. (Randin...) It thrummed again. (Randin.....) The voice grew clearer. (RANDIN!)
Just as he felt like he was safe again he was thrust back into the real world once more. With a sudden start he woke with a jolt. He was filled with energy, but at the same time dread and fear. His chest heaved up and down as he tried to calm himself. Trying to convince himself it was just a dream he shook his head and then flung the sheets off of him. Stumbling out of bed he went to the bathroom that was connected to his bedroom and went inside to the sink. There he turned on the water and splashed his face a bit . He then turned the water back off and stared at the mirror. "It's only just a dream, it's only just a dream..." he breathed outloud to himself. Once he thought he got a grip on reality again, he made his way back into his room. However, before he could crawl back into bed, he heard a small sound of a crack outside his window. This made him gulp a bit, he didn't want to think anyone was around. He had, had his window wide open due to the weather, the moon almost full in the sky, and his room was on the first floor. Carefully he slipped over to the window and looked out it. So far he had saw nothing, and so he turned to go back to bed. But instead of getting back under the covers he sat there cross legged on the bed, knees drawn close to his chest. He knew that here, there were no dragons to protect him. At least right now he didn't think there were or could be. If there was anything out there, he'd have to deal with it on his own.

She moved fast on her feet, ducking down alleys and side streets her heart beating hard in her chest as she moved she felt lies all around her as she moved quickly passed people who looked at her as if she was dirt or crazy. She had seen the look so many times as she had moved from town to town. The next will be different she kept thinking but each was the same filled with lies and liars that filled her with sadness and hate but right now she pulled her coat closed around her trying to lose two men who were and had been following her for several days her hair was a mess and her body ached to just rest and sleep but that was a luxury right now and she moved hard and fast soon she came to an urban area gardens now dry and dusty as she moved.
Soon she came to a house one window was open and she slipped inside hoping for some time to think but she found her self in a basement moving to a corner she found an old blanket and huddled down under it for warmth and a sleep her eyes closing almost on their own the sound of her heart the only sound in her ears but in her dreams she felt pain and saw lies of the people around her, was there nobody who spoke the truth any more who would be her friend so she could rest.
(sorry its short, kinda tired these past few days, but I hope you can work with this ))

Randin had sat for a few moments in silence, but when he thought he heard a sound he jumped. This made him get off his bed and look around his room. There was nothing in there though, just shadows and his things. He gave a sigh and slightly relaxed. But a thought crossed his mind, what if someone got in on the inside elsewhere. After all, there could have been other windows open in the house other than his. Randin went over and grabbed a flashlight from his drawer and his toy wood sword from the corner of his room. Going over to the door, he put his hand on the knob and slowly turned it trying not to make it squeak. He cringed when it did at least once, but finally he got the door open.
He slipped down the hall and made his way to the stairs. His room was on the second floor. Quietly he made his way to the first floor and into the hall next to the kitchen where he knew the stairs that led down into the dark basement were. He gulped once and then tried to convince himself that he could be brave, he could go down there, he could do this. Again he carefully opened the door with it only squeaking a little, and let it hang there ajar for only a few brief moments before he started to slowly descend the stairs, sword at the ready in front of him. The basement below was dark and foreboding. This made Randin just a bit nervous, but he held his ground. Tempted, he called out softly as he made his way down and then finally reaching the landing below.
"Hello?" he whispered. "Hellooo?"
So far there was no stirring, but that could of meant anything. He looked around the best he could, but he was finding nothing. Randin had no idea that he probably had been right on top of the girl that had broke in. If she did wake he would be totally unprepared. Steadily he still looked about searching the basement as quietly as he could, even if the washer and dryer and heater scared him to death still, mostly cause it was dark down there. He had stared at the spot where she was with the flashlight, but he had not really seen her because of the old blanket. Feeling fruitless, he turned to go back upstairs, but before he could he stumbled over something and went crashing down with a thud. Quickly he covered his mouth and hissed.
"Ow!" he painfully whispered, he had no idea whether it woke the girl or not that was there, seeing as he didn't know she was there in the first place.

Amber bolted upright the blanket falling from her as the first thought that went threw her mind was had they found her looking around she saw a boy laid on the floor this made her frown she had thought the house empty since all the windows were dark yet here lay a boy in front of her. Slowly she moved to him. “Are..are you ok?” she asked not daring to touch him in case she felt something she didn't like. She moved around him hoping he would be all right after several minutes she took a chance and knelt beside him gently touching his ankle “ its not broken just sprained “ she said and to her own surprise she smiled down at him.
“Sorry if I broke into your home I needed some place safe to sleep” she explained as she picked up the boy carrying him back up the stairs she paused at the top carefully looking around the corner “ um is any one else here , I mean like your parents?” she asked hoping for her own sake they were out or something so she didn't have to deal with them she looked down at the boy in her arms and sighed. “ I'm not going to harm you” she spoke softly “ I...I just need a place to sleep for a few hours” she said wobbling as she stood some what tired still as she set the boy down on a couch close buy. She stood back from him and then fell to her knees " I'm just so tired" she covered her face hiding the exhaustion she felt, her body ached all over and her mind screamed for sleep the little she'd just had only aided in her body screaming for her to just relax. What little energy she'd had left was now gone.

Randin just stared at her for a good few moments. Mostly out of shock that this girl came right out of no where, swept him off his feet, took him back up to the main floor, and set him on a couch. Then if that wasn't enough she told him it was okay, that all she needed was a place to rest for the night. In any other state or town that would be suicide to believe, however, Montana wasn't every other state. It was a back water place with few and middle towns inbetween it. Remote and secluded who would find anyone out there. Yet Montana hospitality coursed through Randins veins and he wanted to believe that the girl was only there really just to rest. He cursed to himself though that his toy sword got left down in the basement, he would have to get it later from there. Finally he got the courage to speak to her.
"Okay, I will believe you...for now." he stated softly and not sternly, he was too timid to be forceful right now. "Your lucky my parents are out for the night with some neighbors out at their ranch house. They probably won't be back until morning or late afternoon tomorrow. So I guess if all your doing is sleeping I don't mind if you do. If your hungry there is food in the kitchen. What's your name anyway so I don't have to call you hey you late? My name is Randin."
